At Marble Mountain Kennels and Shasta Service Dogs, we’ve spent nearly 30 years raising and training American Labrador Retrievers for hunting, companionship, and working roles. In 2025, we expanded that experience into something even more meaningful.
The demand for service dogs in California and across the West Coast is growing rapidly—and many individuals and families face waitlists of two years or more.
Because of our deep understanding of Labrador Retrievers and our hands-on training experience, we are actively collaborating with leaders in the service dog community to better understand what is needed—and how we can help meet that need.
Through our nonprofit partner organization, True North Quests, we have launched Shasta Service Dogs, a mission-driven program designed to support both established service dog organizations and individuals with specific disability needs.

Our goal is simple—but ambitious:
👉 Reduce the long wait times for service dogs by placing well-bred Labrador puppies earlier, while continuing to develop their skills through structured, ongoing training.
Rather than waiting years for a fully trained adult dog, families can begin bonding with their dog early—while we guide the training process step-by-step.
We are also actively learning from established service dog programs while building a program of our own—combining proven methods with our decades of Labrador breeding and training experience.
